EXP-Editions provides easy access to diverse, reliable knowledge, shared by the best thinkers, researchers, and academics of our time, through brief, original conversations available as videos, podcasts, and articles.

Part of our content is accessible publicly through our website and the rest of our content is accessible on our iOS App available through subscription via iTunes on your Apple mobile device.

2. About this Policy

This Policy sets out the essential details relating to your personal data relationship with EXP-Editions. The Policy applies to all EXP-Editions services and any associated services (referred to as the ‘EXP-Editions Service’). The terms governing your use of the EXP-Editions Service are defined in our “Terms and Conditions of Use”.

The aim of this Policy is to:

  1. Ensure that you understand what personal data we collect      , the reasons why we collect and use it, and who we may share it with;
  2. Explain the way we use the personal data that you share with us in order to give you a great experience when you are using the EXP-Editions Service; and

4.  Personal data we collect from our website

EXP-Editions website collects and records information about you to improve usability of the site, to administer registration processes, mailing lists, online communities, events and conferences, to perform user research. Depending on the context, this information may include, personal names, e-mail addresses and mailing addresses.

What Personal Data Do We Collect?

Log Files

Information collected automatically when you are interacting with websites or mobile applications, for example, IP address, browser type, internet service provider, pages visited (including referring/exit pages), operating system, date/time stamp and/or clickstream data;

In addition, we analyze traffic to the EXP-Editions website in various ways, including using a service called Google Analytics. (Google Analytics is subject to the privacy policy of Google, Inc., which you can find on their website.) We use this information to generate statistics and measure site activity to improve the usefulness of the site to our visitors.

We collect the IP addresses of visitors, time of access, browser type, and web pages visited. We collect this information on an aggregate basis only. For example, we track which pages are most popular among visitors as a whole. We do not track information on which pages an individual user visits. We do not collect any other information without your knowledge and permission. If you search the site, your search requests may be logged. We use this information to measure the number of visitors to different sections of the site, diagnose and correct system errors, perform research, and improve the usability of the site

Cookies

The web server sends a cookie containing some information to your browser, which may record it on your hard drive. When you next visit the website, that cookie is sent back to the web server. We may use your IP address to identify the general geographic area from which you are accessing our website.  Our mobile applications may collect more precise location information about you to provide functions identified in the application, such as a map feature

6. Sharing your personal data

We keep and protect your personal data only as long as necessary to provide you with the EXP-Editions Service and for legitimate and essential business purposes, such as maintaining the performance of the EXP-Editions Service, making data-driven business decisions about new features and offerings, complying with our legal obligations, and resolving disputes. We keep some of your personal data for as long as you are a user of the EXP-Editions Service. For example, we keep your playlists, EXP library, and account information.

If you request, we will swiftly delete or anonymise your personal data so that it no longer identifies you, unless we are legally allowed or required to maintain certain personal data, including situations such as the following:

  • Where we need to retain the personal data for our legal, tax, audit, and accounting obligations, we will retain the necessary personal data for the period required by applicable law; and/or,

We may display content that links to third-party websites. We cannot control or be held responsible for any third parties’ privacy practices and content. If you click on a third-party link, please understand that you are leaving the EXP-Editions Service and any personal data you provide will not be covered by this Policy. 8. Keeping your personal data safe

We are committed to protecting our users’ personal data. We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to help protect the security of your personal data; however, please note that no system is ever completely secure. The infrastructure used for data storage is within Amazon Web Services.

Your password protects your user account, so we encourage you to use a strong password that is unique to your EXP-Editions account, never share your password with anyone, limit access to your computer and browser, and log out after having used the EXP-Editions Service.

9. Privacy regarding minors 

The EXP-Editions Service is not directed to persons under the age of 18 years.

10. Changes to this Policy

We retain the right to make changes, in our sole discretion, to this Privacy Policy. We will post any updated policies to the EXP-Editions’ web site in an accessible place.
